It’s so funny that as CCW rights have been recovered partially or fully in over 80% of the states, the anti-gunners haven’t been able to come up with any new arguments.

Infamously illogical DC City Councilman Phil Mendelson (D-Jackass) offers up the well worn “cops will think you’re a bad guy if you’re carrying….oh noes!1!!1!” canard.

Phil, buddy…please. This hasn’t been a problem anywhere else that CCW is permitted. Why would DC be any different? If an DC Metro officer sees a security guard, off duty officer, USSS member, etc carrying…does he assume they’re assassins?

Of course not. He checks their ID and their credentials and life goes on. Why would CCW permit holders be any different?

It’s just stunning that ostensibly influential, powerful, and responsible people think that sort of knee-jerk nonsense objection is supposed to be compelling.
