Seen At Think Progress

Does this now mean any gun nut can buy a cache of machine guns and automatic weapons?

That pretty much sums up the mentality that we’re dealing with. Glad that side lost.

Seen at Washington Monthly:

Perhaps the gun nuts, which is to say anyone who wants to own a handgun, are now one magical step closer to shooting each other. One can dream.

Cheers,

Alan Tomlinson

P.S. Yes, I really think gun owners are that retarded.

Man, the antigunners sure have hearts full of violence.

900+ handwringing comments at DKos, despite a reasonable assertion from the article author that we liberals shouldn’t ignore the constitution simply because they think it makes a policy goal difficult to obtain.

I’d join the handful of folks throwing pebbles at rollers in the surf over there, but I don’t have the next 3487 hours free.

  1. Dude, you left off the most amazing part of that comment: “Add this decision to the devastating legacy of George W. Bush.”

Not only is this guy an idiot, but he somehow believes that Bush was responsible for the ruling!

  2. Yeah, that’s funny, isn’t it? It’s all Dubya’s fault that something written in the 1780s prevents their disarmament agenda from coming to fruition.

  3. Oh, and reading on….

“This ruling would appear to put at risk all laws regulating weapons ownership, including fully automatic weapons, perhaps even tanks. And what about felons? Can more Virginia Tech’s be heading our way?”

I find it amazing that someone who didn’t read the opinion feels they can comment authoritatively on it. Yikes.

  8. Today’s a good day, a victory for greater Freedom. It’s the metaphorical “shot heard round the world” all over again. “Lexington & Concorde 2.0″

I hope Chicago’s next so the 14th Amendment comes into play via incorporation…that would be sweet. Heller is great for future precedents, exactly the victory we needed.

  10. I’ve voted Democrat in every election since I started voting. The commenters at Washington Monthly and Daily Kos will make me feel much better about checking the box next to McCain.

  11. It’s something they just don’t get; the really think if you own a gun, you *must* be a Republican. So they don’t miss your vote and my vote, cause we don’t count.
