Apparently Prince George’s County, MD leads the nation in carjackings, more per capita than any other jurisdiction. My police officer brother, who until this week worked in PG County (before heading to the greener pastures and greener paychecks of Montgomery Co), told me that PG accounts for 10% of the carjackings nationwide, not just in the state of Maryland.
Wouldn’t it be nice if when confronted by someone willing to kill you for your car (and all too often…they DO kill you), you could defend yourself with a comparable tool to what they’re threatening your life with? Why is it that the Ceasefire types insist that you face an attacker armed with a gun with your bare hands?
Seems folks in South Carolina have that option, and the local law enforcement is glad that they do. Your legislators here in Maryland don’t respect your right to do the same, nor do they trust your judgment when the moment of truth arrives.
If that doesn’t make you angry, you’re not paying attention to the crime wave sweeping our state.

Carry one anyhow. I do. It is better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. Use a wheelgun, don’t stop to call the non-functional police department who were not there to prevent the moron from trying to visit violence on you in the first place. The more of these we kill the safer the streets will be.

Not that I would advocate breaking the law…
But if they can’t stop Joe Thug from carrying, there’s not much chance they’re going to stop you if you’re not an idiot about it.
That’s why the CCW debate is so stupid. A lack of CCW law doesn’t keep anyone from carrying who wants to carry. It just means you’re able to prosecute people who have the nerve to want to protect themselves. Hell, even people who’ve been busted for handguns before are still able to carry and often still roam the streets. The guy who shot that cop earlier this month here in Baltimore had been popped not once but twice in the last year for an illegal handgun. He was still roaming the streets, and still carrying. If we can’t stop that guy from carrying, exactly what benefit is society in Maryland deriving from keeping folks like me from carrying?
You’d be surprised how often the antis will argue that that’s some sort of “radical individualism” of sorts. As in, how dare you suggest you have the right to defend yourself!
