While we’re keeping an eye on the anti-gunners, let’s not forget the queen of them all. Thanks to Wes for pointing this out. Nevermind that the law enforcement version of this caliber isn’t available to civilians or that independent tests have not indicated the Brady Campaign’s cooked up cop-killing contentions have any merit…they’ll keep this stuff on their website anyway. Hey, if it sounds good, right? Adherence to the truth is clearly secondary for these folks.

Remember, we have to ban fully auto weapons because they’re dangerous, but we have to ban semiauto weapons too because semiauto fire is more accurate and dangerous than full auto fire (yes, they really did try that nonsense last year on Gun Bill Day at the Maryland House of Delegates!).

Remember, we have to ban Saturday Night Specials because crooks use cheap, disposable guns, but we also have to ban rare, expensive, exotic weapons like the Five Seven, the AR15, and $3500 fifty caliber target shooting rifles cause heck, they’re scary.

Remember, we have to ban guns in case some nutcase might want one for a mall shooting spree or a robbery, but anyone who wants a gun for self protection is a paranoid freak.

Remember, people shouldn’t have handguns because they serve no military purpose, but you shouldn’t be allowed to have a semiauto rifle since that’s a military weapon.

Noticing a pattern? Making sense, being rational, and having a pragmatic approach to public policy is antithetical to gun control advocates.
