Oh No! Laser Sights!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator @ 8:37 am

Apparently a nutbag with a bunch of guns was arrested in LA. The pantswetting is palpable today!

Police said officers found Bush carrying the pistols — which were equipped with laser sights — and 400 bullets. They also found another 7,800 rounds of ammunition in his van and 3,000 more in his storage locker, police said.

When are we going to get around to banning those pesky things?

  1. Hey dude, I’ve been reading your blog for a while.
I was reading this post (http://www.saysuncle.com/archives/2008/09/02/and-gun-nuts-are-the-crazy-ones/#comments) on SayUncle, and the comments are fucking horrible. They’re borderline racist, and honestly make me doubt my support for the whole shooting community in America. Is this seriously what most pro-gun people are like? (I’m 17 right now, so no guns for me yet)

  2. You have to remember that gun owners are just average Americans; we come in all shapes and sizes and from all backgrounds. The whole point of my site is to demonstrate that in fact the stereotype of the gun owner as the backwoods billybob who fears everyone that doesn’t look like him is in fact not all that accurate.

Vans? Why would we ban vans? Yeah, I hate like heck to get stuck behind ‘em, ‘cuz you can’t see around ‘em, and also, of all the mullets I’ve ever seen in my life, at least sixty percent were in vans, but still, they can be great rides in the right hands.

(Hey, Smacklug: we’re a nation of - what? - 200,000,000 or so people? - and you’ll find racists and idjits and misogynists and followers of Krull The Destroyer and members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Pedophiles just about everywhere you look. Point is, though, that some interest groups do sometimes attract more of the goofies than you’d proportionately expect, simply because they deal with issues that interest the goofies.

Plus, I read those comments just now, and I’ll ask you - when columnist Fatima Ali (do some googling about her reputation as a columnist, and how she might use the issues of race in maybe less-than-honest ways in order to push her own party of choice) basically says that there will be a race war if we don’t elect Obama because of the Great Depression we’re all in (seriously, dood, unemployment, GDP, GNP, the deficit, interest rates - all those things are in pretty decent shape, and I think people are making up about 80% of all of the “the economy sux” stuff for political purposes) - (deep breath) - okay, when she writes that as her column, responses are necessarily going to have some racial component to them, and, if her disingen . . . her disingenuit . . . dammit, her LYING . . . puts you off enough, your response is going to contain some snark, too. And it’s never really PC to put out a response that contains both a racial element, and snark. So, cut them a break.

But, being 17 is no excuse to not be checking out great precision machinery. More gun owners can talk about things like milling accuracy, stainless steel compositional variations, energy-transfer calculations and the like than can people who don’t know guns. Now, which group do YOU wanna hang around with?
