Reasoned Discourse Strikes Again!

Guy Cabot of 603 Holly Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744-6608, who can be reached at (301) 292-6435, managed to get a discussion shut down over at Washington Monthly re: the NRA spy.

As our friend Kynn pointed out, making fun of people’s physiques is no way to win an argument (for the record, I’m actually in pretty good shape and in no way shaped like a water pitcher…but facts mean little to Sir Guy of Ignoramus).

Quality folks, those gun haters are.

  2. Eh, if you stop giving him attention or airtime, he gives up and retreats. Unfortunately, he feeds extensively off attention, and it only serves to keep him going, wrong/absurd/rude/idiotic though his continued attempts may be.

  4. He dropped a comment on my blog this morning after I called him on his BS on the WM site. Interestingly, his IP was different from those I’d seen from him in the past so this may be a poser, but I doubt it.

    The IP his comment came from was from the Navy Network Information Center in Pensacola Florida. However, it is very possible that if he was using an NMCI computer, that IP was a proxy. He may not even work for ORC any more, but if he does, the company is a government contractor with Navy contracts. He may be on travel to a site in Pensacola or working a contract that has access to those IPs. He may have changed jobs and moved to Pensacola. It’s hard to say.

    At any rate, I tried to post a reply to his last comment to me on the WM thread, but they had already shut it down. I posted it on the comment thread on my blog post, but he hasn’t been back so far.

  5. Guy is a major douchebag. But I take issue with posting his info on Al Gore’s internets. A quick google reveals some family members names, contact info, and such and they shouldn’t suffer for his general ass-hattery.

  7. Unk–he started it. I’m merely responding in kind. Actually, not even. Guy made it personal a long time ago. His family shouldn’t have to suffer, but the only way he’s going to learn is by realizing that the Internet isn’t a consequence free zone.

    Then again this is coming from the guy who openly confronts drug dealers in the inner city of the worst homicide big city in America, so frankly I’m not all that worried about Guy relative to the dangers I face. He can bite me.

Curt - he has actually visited my site and attempted to comment to it multiple times from NMCI computers in Pensacola - I think he is either somehow using them as a proxy, or just has access to them through his employer. ThirdPower reported this misuse of government IPs for harassment purposes to the Navy, but I do not think he heard anything back. I also get pings from him out of DC and MD (those more frequently, so I think he is still in that region). If you (or anyone) want the full list of his IPs I have, just drop me a line (linoge *at* wallsofthecity *dot* net).

    You apparently aren’t familiar with Guy Cabot’s antics. He loves posting defamatory slanders about others on the net, he’s had a particular vendetta against me (I saw you posted the pic of me he screen captured, so I know you’re at least vaguely familiar with his site) for some time now, and has no issue with writing personal details about me on the net for all to see.

    He’s a serial troll who gets his jollies polluting other people’s sites and engages in personal attacks on others like its going out of style.

    I like reminding him that that door swings both ways. The difference is…I don’t say things about him that aren’t true.
