Spies!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator @ 2:23 pm

So I’m cruising the blogosphere for news while the site was down (sorry for the outage folks) when I came across WashingtonMonthly’s link to the MoJo story on the NRA spy who infiltrated.

My take is…eh.

Sneaky stuff, but something I’m sure goes on at all levels of special interest advocacy. My guess is that nothing really earthshattering was gleaned from this. We know they want to ban guns. We know they’re anti liberty and don’t give a rat’s arse about self defense or people like me.

Wayne La Pierre’s petty cash drawer probably has more dough in it than most of these groups enjoy for entire operating budgets (the exception being the Soros funded Joyce Foundation fronts like the Freedom States Alliance, a fact that gets glossed over in these sorts of stories about “grassroots” gun control groups). So I question whether the NRA got its money’s worth.

But it does show you how operationally incompetent Bryan Miller and his henchpeople really are. They don’t know anything about guns, they don’t know anything about liberty and self defense, and apparently they don’t know much about their board members either.

Edited to add: bonus fun! Jadedweeb, aka Guy Cabot of Fort Washington, MD, has decided to troll over at WM’s comments section. This ought to be a barrel of monkeys.

  3. They take money from a gun-banning foreigner(Soros), make common cause with the international gunbanners(IANSA), and lie repeatedly about the nature of gun owners and firearms all in order to strip us of a basic civil right, and then they have the chutzpah to whine about the tactics of their opponents.

  4. Yah, that’s what I said in the other forum. Given the tactics and the anti-freedom, racist, bigoted strategy of the gun banners…I don’t think they have much room to gripe.

  7. the NRA does appear to have paid her for some manner of services, but i don’t think anybody’s specified just what she did for them yet.

honestly, i’ve a hard time believing the anti-gunners even have a whole lot of secrets the NRA would be willing to pay a specialists’ wages to get at.

They probably just have copies of the lastest version of Gun Facts printed out all over the place with “Never mention ANYTHING that’s in here. ALWAYS LIE!”

    And that’s about it.

  9. I really shouldn’t read this stuff at work. I’m grinning like a maniac the whole time and occasionally choking back laughter.

This is my favorite part: ” ‘The McFate operation,’ says Miller, ‘would confirm for me the way that the gun lobby works, which is no rules, no question of fairness or honesty. Anything that they can do they will do to protect the profits of the gun industry.’ ”

Project much, Bryan? And he completely leaves out any mention of the wishes and money of millions of law-abiding gun owners in favor of the “gun industry” bogeyman. Do these clowns have any idea how small the “gun industry” really is (compared to other manufacturers) or how (relatively) little money is involved?

If it were up to the “gun industry” to protect our rights, they’d have taken all the guns long ago…

  10. I don’t understand what they’re complaining about. I don’t remember the specifics, but haven’t a few high-up gun grabbers openly admitted to joining the NRA so that they could attend NRA events? Is turnabout not fair play?
