As we party on into 2007, some non political reflections:
Reader TimG writes that he’s in the process of beating cancer. The screens are indicating it hasn’t spread to the lymph nodes and he’s likely to dodge the chemo bullet as the doctors believe they’ve excised all the cancerous cells; Tim’s a good man who’s forgotten more about firearm instruction, safety, technique, and self defense than most of us will ever know. He’s a great asset on our side and I know you’ll all pull for him.
My aunt hasn’t been as fortunate. Her cancer spread to the lymph nodes and she’s undergone a tortuous chemo and radiation regimen over the last year. Her fight is going to be long and hard, and we’re just glad she’s still with us. She’s got the will to fight, and that’s inspirational in and of itself.
I look to 2007 with optimism. I recognize that life is a gift. Don’t squander it.
